{"id":2207,"date":"2022-02-25T00:02:57","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T00:02:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.library.ualberta.ca\/collections-information\/?p=2207"},"modified":"2022-02-25T05:02:35","modified_gmt":"2022-02-25T05:02:35","slug":"new-newspaper-archive-novaia-gazeta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.library.ualberta.ca\/collections-information\/2022\/02\/25\/new-newspaper-archive-novaia-gazeta\/","title":{"rendered":"New newspaper archive: Novaia Gazeta"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In CSU, we recently purchased the digitized archive of <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/login.ezproxy.library.ualberta.ca\/login?url=https:\/\/dlib.eastview.com\/browse\/udb\/5310\" target=\"_blank\">Novaia Gazeta<\/a>. <\/em>This is the investigative, critical, independent Russian newspaper whose editor and co-founder, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/nobel-peace-prize-how-dmitry-muratov-built-russias-bravest-newspaper-novaya-gazeta-169560\" target=\"_blank\">Dmitry Muratov<\/a>, received the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nobelprize.org\/prizes\/peace\/2021\/summary\/\" target=\"_blank\">2021 Nobel Peace Prize<\/a>. (There were two recipients in 2021, the other being investigative journalist Maria Ressa, founder of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rappler.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rappler<\/a>.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Novaia Gazeta<\/em> archive is now set up as part of the Library collection &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.library.ualberta.ca\/az.php?t=19162\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">you can find it in the databases A-Z list<\/a>. The archive will be updated periodically.
