Many of our databases have full-text or streaming audio or video content in one or multiple non-English languages, but the field in the Springshare platform that we were using as a\u00a0<em>Language<\/em>\u00a0drop-down menu allowed for only a single language designation for each database.\u00a0That language menu has now been deleted. As a work-around to make this content more discoverable, we&#8217;ve used the &#8216;more&#8217; field to note language content for these databases. This means that language names are now keyword-searchable, and the text in the search box has been changed from\u00a0<em>Search Databases<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0<em>Search Keyword or Language<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>A search on virtually any language name will now result in a list of titles. There will be some false hits (e.g. Latin language &#8211; Latin American database) and some variations in the English translations of language names, but combining a language search with a specific database type will now provide much better retrieval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Note that we have not assigned languages to A&amp;I databases with no full text content unless the platform interface and content is available entirely in a non-English language. As always, we&#8217;re relying on our public services staff to advise us of any corrections or omissions.
