My project aims to create animal models of schizophrenia to investigate the cognitive symptoms of the disorder. These symptoms include significant impairments in learning and memory. The attached image shows a mouse undergoing a Novel Object Recognition test, which measures its ability to recognize new objects. During the test, the mouse is first presented with two identical objects. Later, one of these objects is replaced with a new one. The mouse’s ability to distinguish the new object is then evaluated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
