She is a leader in our industry and we&#8217;re extremely lucky\nto have her join us at UAlberta Press.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lobkowicz says, \u201cThroughout all of my\nroles, I have worked with authors and prospective authors, representing their\nwork to colleagues and to the market. I am excited at the prospect of building\non the Press\u2019s already impressive lists in literature, poetry, natural history,\nand Indigenous Studies. Acquiring in the humanities is particularly exciting\nbecause the field encourages us to engage in active reflection and grapple with\ncomplex moral issues. Books are a big part of my home life as well, and when I\nread for pleasure, I most often choose Canadian fiction and short stories.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Dale Askey, Vice-Provost &amp; Chief\nLibrarian at the University of Alberta, states, \u201cA vibrant university press\nneeds astute and energetic acquisitions editors to succeed. We welcome Michelle\nto the team and are pleased that she has chosen to apply her talents to the\nsuccess of University of Alberta Press.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lobkowicz was born and raised in Edmonton.\nShe received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Alberta and\nher Master of Arts in English from the University of Guelph.
