New ebook collection: University of Toronto Press

Hi everyone, happy to let you know that we now have perpetual unlimited simultaneous access to the University of Toronto Press’s ebooks from 2014-present. This is a frontlist agreement, which means that new UTP ebooks will continue to be added as soon as they are published. The UTP ebooks reside on the platform of publisher De Gruyter. The collection includes the vast majority of UTP’s books from these years, with exceptions being a few dozen textbooks that UTP doesn’t make available electronically.

  • UTP now appears on the list of Ebook packages we buy directly from publishers.
  • UTP is listed under “University of Toronto Press” in the Databases A-Z list, with a link that leads here: [link]
  • You will see UTP ebooks appearing in the catalogue; the bibebook team has loaded about 600 records so far.

UTP is an important press and we have many of its books in print. However, as you may know, it has historically been relatively hesitant to offer ebooks.
As always, please contact us at csu@ualberta.ca with questions about this or anything else collection-related.
