We now have access to the Refinitiv platform. It replaces content from the soon-to-be discontinued Thomson One database, and also Datastream, which was previously available only on a dedicated workstation in the Winspear Business Library. We have created a separate database asset for Datastream that will link to the same information page.
Refinitiv is a Financial and Economics information platform. Refinitiv Student Workspace covers market data in a wide range of asset classes: equities, fixed income, FX, and commodities. UofA users have access to two add-on modules: AMR: After-Market Research, and Datastream, a comprehensive financial time series database.
The registration process for Refinitiv involves a number of steps, there are some limits on content use, and the platform itself has a number of unique and customizable features. Accordingly, Carolyn and Celine will be providing training for ISS staff on June 16th from 11:00 to 11:45:
“Refinitiv Workspace is a teaching tool to help business and economics students find financial news and data in a customizable platform. Learn how to help students and faculty register for Refinitiv Workspace, where to get help for users, and how to connect users to key content.”
NOTE: Our Refinitiv license allows for a limited number of concurrent registrations, so we are asking that staff do not register for an individual account. We have created two shared accounts (Cameron Help and Rutherford Help) that can be used by all ISS staff.
