Embracing AI in Academic Libraries: An Introduction to ChatGPT

Description: The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and generative language models, such as ChatGPT, are transforming the academic landscape, prompting discussions on their potential impact on teaching, research, and library services. We invite members to join us for a concise, one-hour presentation exploring the essentials of these AI-driven technologies and their possible applications in academic libraries.

In this session, we will cover the following main points:

  1. Gain a basic understanding of the core concepts behind AI and generative language models, focusing on ChatGPT as a leading example.
