| The collections budget is provided to the Chief Librarian by University Administration in the Spring of each new fiscal year. Historically, the collections budget has been stable, with small increases each year to account for inflation. The Chief Librarian, the AUL with responsibility for collections , and the Senior Financial Officer meet to discuss and determine budget allocations across the libraries for the year. CSU reviews subscription requests and prioritizes them in the Fall of each year as we come to know what funds are available for new subscriptions. We begin setting up new subscriptions near the end of the calendar year for a January 1st start date. Large one-time purchases are generally considered toward the end of the fiscal year (March 31st).
