Some significant acquisitions in the publishing industry have made the news this week. Clarivate, formerly a division of Thomson Reuters with Web of Science in its vast portfolio, has purchased ProQuest, for a reported $5.3 billion USD. In other news, Wiley has acquired the open access provider Knowledge Unlatched.
