In Banff, where the Rocky Mountains meet vibrant community life, a shift toward cleaner travel is taking shape. This image shows a future where electric vehicle charging hubs are thoughtfully placed to serve both people and the planet. My research supports Canada’s Zero Emission Vehicle goals by identifying the best locations for EV infrastructure in the town of Banff. By using data-driven models and community insights, I explore how strategic planning can make sustainable travel more accessible while protecting the town’s natural and cultural heritage. This scene reflects the heart of my work — helping communities make practical choices today that lead to a greener tomorrow.

Was your image created using Generative AI?
Yes.

Did you upload any materials into an AI tool to help generate your image?
No.

Which model of generative AI did you use?
DALL-E 2 by OpenAI.

How was your image created?
This image was created through a detailed digital process using artificial intelligence (AI) tools. I carefully developed a series of prompts based on my research themes — including Banff’s Rocky Mountain landscape, optimal electric vehicle charging layouts, and community-centered design elements. I created multiple drafts, making adjustments to the positioning of vehicles, chargers, and the lounge space to better reflect realistic and sustainable infrastructure planning. After several rounds of refinement to ensure visual accuracy and consistency with the natural environment, the final conceptual visualization was selected. The image was enhanced for print quality, exported as a high-resolution PNG file at 300 dpi, and prepared to meet the competition’s professional standards.

How did you craft your prompt to guide the generative AI in creating your image?
My goal was to visualize a future where sustainable electric vehicle infrastructure blends naturally into Banff’s Rocky Mountain landscape. I crafted prompts that described a modern EV charging hub with multiple chargers, electric vehicles parked in organized rows, a small lounge space, and Banff’s iconic snowy peaks and forested surroundings. I focused on keywords like “Canadian Rockies,” “town of Banff,” “sustainable infrastructure,” and “community-centered design” to guide the style and tone. I refined the prompts through several rounds, adjusting descriptions to improve the placement of vehicles, chargers, and the lounge area. I reviewed multiple AI-generated variations and selected the final image that best reflected realistic infrastructure planning and the spirit of my research.

Where is the image located?
A conceptual visualization generated from research on optimal electric vehicle charging locations in the Town of Banff, Alberta, to support Canada’s Zero Emission Vehicle goals.
