This image was taken in February in the Aishihik River, Yukon, Canada. Flow direction is from the right of the image to the left. From this image, you can find a sharp bend with partial ice covers and open water areas. Some river ice processes occurred here. A solid ice formed at the downstream of this bend immediately. Ice pans jammed at the mid of the bend. Border ice grew from river banks and restricted the open water area. You can find water overflowing on ice from the shadow areas. All these river ice processes are related to my research, and my goal is field study and numerical modelling of these processes to better understand the impacts of these processes on river hydraulics, environment, and human communities.
