This image depicts a woman engaged in the delicate process of shawl weaving — a craft deeply rooted in cultural tradition. Beyond its aesthetic and artisanal value, the act of weaving represents an important pathway to economic empowerment for women in marginalized communities.
In the context of my research, this image illustrates how traditional skills can be transformed into opportunities for self-reliance and entrepreneurship. By supporting women to develop their craftsmanship into sustainable businesses, they gain financial independence, strengthen their social position, and contribute meaningfully to their local economies.
This image is a visual reflection of the central theme of my research: empowering women to weave not only textiles, but also their own futures — stitch by stitch, thread by thread.
